Academic Biography
Blair is a dedicated and enthusiastic tutor and an honors graduate from Princeton University who enjoys instilling excitement about reading and writing. With an M.F.A. in Fiction from NYU, Blair is a creative writer who likes to bring interesting stories and articles to a session to keep students interested in their reading. She uses writing exercises, games, and a strong sense of outlines to encourage organization along with creativity. Blair is an experienced teacher and tutor, having worked as an adjunct instructor at NYU in introductory creative writing and also as an adjunct faculty member at Endicott College, teaching college writing and creative writing. She has worked as a tutor for a number of agencies, teaching SAT prep, GED prep, PSAT prep, and one-on-one writing. Blair has also worked as an editorial assistant in the offices of many literary magazines, including Ploughshares and The New Yorker. She is a published writer herself, with short stories published or forthcoming in Descant, The Red Rock Review, The Allegheny Review, The Armchair Aesthete, Quality Women's Fiction, The Best Young Writers and Artists in America, among others.
Personal Biography
A dedicated fiction writer, Blair also enjoys writing about her craft. She maintains the blog writerlylife.com, a site with daily thoughts on the writing life. She is also interested in the editorial side of the writing world and worked as a fiction intern in the offices of The New Yorker, reading and rejecting unsolicited manuscripts.
