Academic Biography
Blair graduated cum laude in 2009 from Princeton University with a BA in English and Creative Writing. Beginning in the fall, she is enrolled in NYU's M.F.A. program in Fiction. She is a published fiction writer, with stories in Quality Women's Fiction, Descant, The Allegheny Review, The Best Young Writers and Artists in America, and elsewhere. She has received several awards for her writing while at Princeton, including the Ward Prize twice for exceptionally promising members of the Creative Writing Department, the Outstanding Work by a Senior Award, and the Francis LeMoyne Page award for her senior thesis, a collection of short stories. She has extensive tutoring experience both in creative writing and analytical writing, as well as the SAT, and English. She previously worked as an SAT, essay-writing, and creative writing tutor with a Princeton-based tutoring agency, as well as with the Let's Get Ready tutoring program. She is dedicated to getting students excited about reading and writing and understanding the underlying structures that make writing effective.
Personal Biography
A dedicated fiction writer, Blair also enjoys writing about her craft. She maintains the blog writerlylife.com, a site with daily thoughts on the writing life. She is also interested in the editorial side of the writing world and worked as a fiction intern in the offices of The New Yorker, reading and rejecting unsolicited manuscripts.
