Academic Biography

Kate graduated magna cum laude from Columbia University in 2004, with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology. After working on problem-solving justice projects with the New York State Court System for 5 years, Kate has returned to school to pursue a Master of Public Policy at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government and an MBA at the MIT Sloan School of Management. Over the past 4 years, she has tutored over 20 students in New York City, on subjects ranging from time management and personal study skills to algebra, English, and test preparation.

Personal Biography

Most recently, Kate led a task force on prison reentry in Upper Manhattan and started a blog on the subject, called Rethinking Reentry (http://rethinkingreentry.blogspot.com). She has reviewed grant applications for the Department of Justice and hopes to pursue a career in domestic social policy issues once she finishes grad school. She currently holds a fellowship at the Kennedy School's Taubman Center for State and Local Government. In her free time, Kate enjoys taking dance classes and has a budding interest in photography.
