Academic Biography

Melissa is currently a Research and Clinical Fellow at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Harvard Medical School performing biomedical research. In addition, she is third-year surgery resident, completing a two-year research fellowship as part of her general surgery residency at Duke University Medical Center. Melissa graduated cum laude in Biology from Harvard College after which she attended Weill Medical College of Cornell University for medical school. She began tutoring as a high school student and continues to teach medical students on their surgery rotations. While at Cornell she was a member of the admissions committee during which time she interviewed numerous applicants. Beginning this spring Melissa will be a non-resident premedical tutor in on of the Harvard undergraduate houses.

Personal Biography

When not working in the lab, Melissa enjoys cooking, running, and painting. Now free from full-time clinical duties she is training for her next marathon.
