Academic Biography
Karina holds a Masters degree from the University of Buenos Aires in Molecular Genetics and Biotechnology and a PhD in Molecular and Cell Biology from Brandeis University. For the last twenty years, Karina has excelled as a teacher in a variety of biology courses at the University of Buenos Aires, Brandeis University, and Boston University, including Introduction to Biology, Introduction to Molecular and Cell Biology, Genetics, Ecology. She is currently a Biology professor at Boston University and the AP Biology teacher at Buckingham, Browne and Nichols Schools in Cambridge. She is a passionate scientist and teacher, who also performs research on science education, trying to understand how students learn and overcome misconceptions. Karina is fluent in Spanish, English, and Hebrew.
Personal Biography
A native of Argentina, Karina has been living in the United States for the last sixteen years. Besides teaching, her passions include traveling, cooking, and of course – Argentine soccer.
