Academic Biography
Matt holds a BA from Bowdoin College, where he majored in Chemistry and minored in Economics. In addition, he completed a host of Math, Physics, and Biology courses. While a sophomore at Bowdoin, he was selected by the faculty to tutor Chemistry and Quantitative skills. For three years, he led group study sessions and tutored students individually. He has also tutored high school students to prepare for the SSAT, SAT, and SAT subject tests. In addition, he has tutored the GRE. In the next few years, Matt plans to go to graduate school to continue his research in Chemistry.
Personal Biography
Born and raised in Center City, Philadelphia, Matt’s first experience with the outdoors, and with teaching, was as a camp counselor at a summer camp in Vermont. Ever since then, Matt has been extremely passionate about both. Outside of class, Matt’s spare time in college was spent tutoring, skiing, playing rugby and working as a DJ for the college radio station. He spent two winters in Jackson, Wyoming skiing and hiking with his black lab, Luke. Matt also enjoys traveling, cooking, and photography. He has backpacked for several months in Vietnam, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, South America, and the U.S.
