Academic Biography

Tanya did her undergraduate work at UW-Madison where she was also a teaching assistant for undergraduate analytical and general chemistry during her junior and senior years of college. She came to Harvard for graduate studies and just received her PhD. Her graduate work was in the lab of Professor Gavin MacBeath and focused on making protein microarray-based diagnostic tools for clinical use. She has also been a teaching fellow for various courses including general chemistry, both undergraduate and graduate level chemical biology, and inorganic chemistry. This semester in addition to tutoring with Veritas Tutors, she will be the Departmental Teaching Fellow for the Department of Chemistry and Chemical Biology at Harvard where her duties will include teaching a pedagogy course on teaching chemistry at Harvard and mentoring incoming teaching fellows.

Personal Biography

When Tanya's not studying or doing research, she also teach yoga at a studio in Copley Square. She is an avid outdoorsman and enjoys hiking, biking, camping, rock climbing, and kayaking - pretty much anything that gets her out of the lab and into the woods! She also volunteer with a youth leadership organization called the Phoenix Project which focuses on mind-body training for youth volunteers to avoid volunteer burnout.
