Clare graduated summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from Princeton University in 2004 with a B.A. in English and Creative Writing; she earned her MFA in fiction from Columbia University, where she held a Graham Fellowship, in 2006. Her fiction has received special mention from the Pushcart Prize and has been published in Dave Eggers’ Best American Nonrequired Reading 2011, One Story, Willow Springs, Hayden’s Ferry Review, Inkwell, online at n+1 and FiveChapters, and elsewhere. She recently finished her first novel. Clare taught English and writing at a private high school for six years; this job, which she deeply loved, involved not only classroom teaching but also extensive one-on-one work with students of many ages on their writing, both analytical and creative. She also taught a fiction workshop to Columbia undergraduates through the INTRO program. Along the way, she has held editorial internships at the New Yorker, Time Magazine, the Atlantic Monthly, and Parnassus: Poetry in Review. Reading and writing are lifelong passions for Clare, and she finds tremendous joy in helping others to develop skill and confidence at these tasks.

Andrea is a senior at Harvard College and expects to graduate in May with a degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology. She has completed a variety of biology courses while also fulfilling her pre-medical requirements and exploring coursework outside of the sciences, such as courses on public policy and statistics. Alexei graduated from Harvard University with a Ph.D. in Biochemistry in November 2012. Prior to his doctoral studies, he attended a high school and a private international university (Jacobs University) in Germany. As a graduate student, Alexei developed a new measurement technology that has the potential for initiating a paradigm shift in diagnostics and drug discovery in oncology and neuroscience.
